Since the split with her boyfriend, Ellen, a registry office, has had a hard time marrying happy couples. An unlucky single, addicted to shopping and pills, she eventually ends up with therapist Christian. A passionate affair soon develops between the two. But actually, Christian would soon marry someone else. When Christian abruptly breaks off his new relationship and then shows up at the town hall to marry his Nora, Ellen's world collapses completely...
