Das Ekel plot

Karl Sträubler, a wine wholesaler, is a real grump. What makes him white-hot with rage is the new tram line, as it turns right at his door and makes quite a bit of noise. He drafts petitions, wants to file lawsuits and even insults the court, against the advice of his friend Weichert. Weichert's son Heinrich loves Leni, Sträubler's daughter. But when he asks for her hand, her father throws him out because, according to him, Leni should marry Ferdinand. But this one loves the hairdresser's daughter, Pitzinger, more. When Sträubler now also wants to announce the engagement of his dream couple, Leni flees to Weichert's house.
