Convention Girl plot
Cynthia "Babe" LaVal is a hostess in Atlantic City. She arranges female escorts for visiting conference attendees. Babe demands that her boyfriend Bill Bradley stop gambling before she marries him. When Bill refuses to stop gambling, Babe has a love affair with Ward Hollister, president of a Philadelphia soup company. Ward has come to Atlantic City because his top salesman has had a drinking problem since Babe turned him down. Ward gives Babe a check to pay this top seller's hotel bill, but Babe's cousin Tommy LaVal steals this check and uses it to blackmail Ward.
