"Starting from scratch never tasted so good."

He leaves for Miami, where he opens a canteen with his ex-wife (Sofia Vergara), his best friend (John Leguizamo) and his son (Emjay Anthony). With this he hopes not only to rediscover his initial passion for cooking, but also his zest for life.

A wonderful feel-good movie with the tastiest juiciest ingredients, shall we say. The film is actually split in two. In the restaurant and in his food truck. Both made fun and not boring. We cannot speak of a real comedy. You have something like a real laugh movie (rarely made anymore) and a funny fun made movie that this one belongs in. Chef also has some lesser pieces I must say. Sometimes they go just too far. Like the cop with his selfies. I also found the office part boring, meaningless adding little to the whole. Plastic bags for your shoes Choosing a carpet color is very important. cut! The chef is doing well, although I think this role could have been someone else. I loved to play with his son. Not overdone, just right. In addition, there is also a nice parenting message to his role. Nice! His (ex) wife played nice seemed more like a beauty lady who now belongs in the white house. Found the match between those two a bit strange, which doesn't mean she was wrong because she also had a nice role. I also allowed the waitress to be there .

Another small minus than it is a feel good movie, but also of the highest quality. Apart from the fired chef, partly in control, but nothing negative happens. Bus accident, fire, etc. No, everything is going well

Image and sound are well taken care of, the meals also by the way and the music reminded me of Salsa (88). Atmosphere enhancing. Beautiful soundtrack!

In summary Chef is a nice light-hearted film with a small message that does not bore. Put the movie on if you've already eaten

Really enjoyed this movie, and that's quite a credit to it. Because rarely have I enjoyed myself so much with a film with so little content. Because nothing happens and there is no tension at all. No rise fall rise, nothing. No discord between the divorced spouses, nada.

I've recently seen Jon Favreau as an extremely obnoxious guy in "Couples Retreat" so I was a little suspicious of this movie starring him. But after 10 minutes you are completely in it because the dialogues are very well written. Very natural, a bit Apatow-esque. That suits me.

Of course I'm going to try some of those Cubanos sandwiches soon, I found a recipe for whoever wants to do it here:

I've seen some really good movies lately. So maybe I'm a bit spoiled now. I also like movies where food is central. So I probably went into this movie with a little too high of expectations. Already in the first scenes I saw that this film was not going to be him. A chef fighting social media isn't a very strong subject either. Furthermore, it is a weak story that drags to the end extremely long-winded and full of clichés. Very mediocre acting too and appallingly bad dialogues with a lot of unbelievability. And the further the movie progresses, the worse it gets. I had to lower my rating every time. In the very last scenes, the last clichés were also used to quickly rush the film and finally give it a fat fail. Unfortunately, you also need bad movies to appreciate the really good movies better.
