Chaudemanche Père et Fils plot

The 65-year-old widower Eugène Chaudemanche lives with his son Antoine and daughter Mado on a farm on the Loire in the Anjou region. He distills calvados there, supposedly for his own use, but he sells three quarters of his income without a license. Controllers of the 'Régie des Alcools' keep a close eye on the Chaudemanches. Meanwhile, Eugène becomes the lover of the handsome, half-aged widow Germaine, but initially wants his son and stubborn bachelor Antoine to marry Germaine.
