Calling All Husbands plot
Homer Trippe is very impressed with his wife, and Mrs. Trippe also dominates her daughter Bette's life, dismissing her boyfriend Dan as a mere delivery boy. Mrs. Trippe constantly complains about her poor choice of Homer over her former suitor Oscar Armstrong. Homer is cheerful, poetic, and kind, but afraid to face Mrs. Trippe's opposition to Dan and Betty's romance. Dan gives Betty an ultimatum: marry him or lose him. Meanwhile, Homer raises a hobo, who turns out to be the oft-recalled Oscar Armstrong. Oscar has a big surprise in store for the Trippes.
