Reverse the Curse plot

The summer of 1978. Ted Fullilove, an outsider, sleeps in a bed littered with yellow notepads on which he hopes to pen down the next great American novel. When Ted discovers that his estranged, Red Sox fanatic father Marty is dying, he returns home to care for the man. The once intimidating and absent-minded man from his youth does everything he can to make up for lost time with his son, but his health takes a dramatic dip every time the Red Sox lose. With the help of a group of friendly locals and the attractive Mariana, Marty's therapist, Ted decides to fake the Red Sox victories.
