This homage to '80s horror films stars Bruce Campbell as a department store manager on Black Friday and favors prosthetic effects over CGI. The special effects are also quite nice. Unfortunately, screenwriter Andy Greskoviak apparently didn't realize that the better 80s horror films had a decent story. Gracious, greedy customers are turned into zombies by the bite of a substance reminiscent of The Blob and attack the department store employees. Tries to be funny but fails. Campbell doesn't even do his own stunts!

Revised again at short notice before Christmas, but the figure remains the same. Good entertainment, very well acted, but the final content is little to write home about. The biggest potential is actually a potential zombie attack on a crowded store, but director Casey Tebo apparently thought that idea was too ambitious. I was disappointed with the finale, which left a much too plastic impression. Fortunately, the effects remain quite practical, so the sometimes animated bloodshed raises some eyebrows at times.
