Betty Be Good plot
Betty, the beautiful daughter of Jonathan Brownlee, a retired capitalist, is impulsive and mischievous, and enjoys pranks that keep her father and the household servants in constant fear. Brownlee's standard line is "Betty behave," a constant, if rather futile, appeal on his part to the vivacious girl, who tells her friends that she is tired of being lectured about her behavior. Peter Madison, the town's mayor, is at odds with millionaire Brownlee on political matters. He has a son, Jimmy Madison, who poses as a uniformed policeman. Brownlee secures what he believes to be evidence of political corruption on the mayor's part. However, the documents are lost when Betty, during one of her escapades, drives away in the car in which her father left them.
