The handsome Felix Krull has, since childhood, a great talent for slipping into other roles and deceiving people. After a few twists of fate, he takes a job as an elevator boy in a luxury hotel in Paris and quickly works his way up to head waiter. He meets the Marquis Louis de Venosta, with whom he arranges an identity swap so that he can live with his mistress Zaza. In the role of the Marquis, Felix travels and eventually delivers his masterpiece to the royal court in Lisbon as an impostor.
