Slightly absurdist-comic and experimental film - even with explicit porn - that both entertains and holds up a critical mirror to (Romanian) society. Pretty much the whole of contemporary society is covered, from sex videos that accidentally end up on the internet and consumerism to the corona pandemic and conspiracy theories, but the message is moralistic and at the same time pessimistic or even cynical: just as the buildings in Bucharest are decaying and there being many poor society is also morally decaying with vulgarity and anti-social behavior everywhere but people always condemn the other and never themselves with the television and computer screen as the contemporary reflection in Porseus' shield to view the face of Medusa as the ugly and to condemn. This fall into hypocrisy and desire to humiliate the other may be rooted in Romania's history as a dictatorship and the film refers to that history throughout, but also seems to want to show more universally the depraved or imperfect core of man (as e.g. in the second part, which is just a dictionary, children are called the political prisoners of their parents).
All in all, a film with a sombre image of man and society, but which at the same time does not take itself too seriously, even expressly presents itself as a joke, underlining the absurdity of the disgusting state of man.

Bizarre movie. It is a mystery to me that this film won the Golden Bear in Berlin a few years ago. It starts right away with a genuine porn scene. Not that we should be happy about that.
To be honest, I didn't quite understand the set-up of the film. The first chapter is one elongated walk through the streets of Bucharest. That was not very inviting, not the city, but certainly not the citizens either. Those mouth masks at the time of corona also felt a bit akward. The second chapter brought a little more humor with a kind of visual dictionary. Very strange scenes that I could hardly place.
Fortunately, the last part, the process meeting, makes up for it. Great scene when the video was shown again to let everyone know what it was about. Funny when some men were mesmerized from close by watching the images. When one of the women said it would be clear after halfway through, some of the men protested that they wanted a full picture of the charge…
