Avant le Déluge plot
Richard Dutoit, Philippe Boussard and Jean Arnaud were all students in the same class of Professor Noblet. Richard, the son of a former collaborator, grew up hating the Jews. He loves Liliane, his teacher's daughter. Philippe gets all the money he needs by blackmailing his own mother because he once caught her with Mr. Montessant, a well-known merchant who was doing shady business with his father. And Jean is suffocated by his mother's possessiveness. Korea's war threatens to degenerate into a world conflict. The trio dreams of moving to a distant island in Polynesia. In order to obtain the necessary money for the trip, they plan to steal Montessan's very valuable stamp collection.
