"Al Capone... Get lost! Dillinger... Phooey on you! Here come the funniest crooks since crime began!"
New York in the 1930s. Charlie is a strong but penniless masked wrestler and Sonny is a charming flier of 12 crafts and 13 mishaps. Sonny meets Charlie at a wrestling match and is soon impressed by his powers. When Charlie refuses to succumb to the mob and wins the match, mob boss Angelo offers a hefty reward for whoever beats him. The whole colosseum turns against Charlie, but Sonny helps him escape. When they accidentally bump into each other later, they come up with a plan. Tired of being penniless all the time, they decide to pretend to be two tough ex-mafia members in order to be employed by the local mafia boss Angelo. Their approach works, but the question is whether they are as tough and ruthless as they pretend to be.

Nice Spencer film, Gemma also does a great job, but Hill is simply unbeatable in these types of films.
Nice thirties atmosphere and again with cheerful music from, I think brothers (?), De Angelis!

Enzo Barboni clearly made this movie with Terence Hill alongside Spencer in mind. Hill couldn't or wouldn't, so Giuliano Gemma got the thankless job of replacing him. Instead of doing his own thing, he mirrored Terence Hill even more when he played the part. Well, then the comparison is quickly made of course. And Gemma is no Hill.
The film is not bad in itself and fits nicely in the list of the Spencer / Hill films with the necessary fights and light humor. You have to love these kinds of movies, of course. No heavy humor or action and some slapstick thrown in. All in all, not a bad movie.
