Very nice film about a group of oversexed teenagers who want to lose their virginity. Almost all the characters in this movie are funny, especially Eugene Levy as Jim's father and Seann William Scott as Stifler. And Shannon Elizabeth as Nadia is of course sexy as hell! American Pie is not just plain underpants fun, but also contains enough sentimentality and attention to the awkwardness and insecurity of teenagers trying to find their place among their peers and in their exploratory dealings with members of the opposite sex.

"Ooh Finchie...Finchie!"
"Wow, Stifler's mom!!"

Nah.

Seen it once, but didn't like it much at the time. As one of the few apparently, this has become a piece of unexpected cultural heritage, with a number of scenes that have gone down in film history. So gave it another chance.

It's still a very poor film in my opinion. Annoying characters, not very successful jokes and the direction of the Weitz brothers is not really something that stays with me. There are those few scenes that everyone keeps talking about, but even those don't amount to much.

Remains a short playing time and a brisk tempo. But how this film has become so famous and why so many sequels/spin-offs have been made is a complete mystery to me. I don't see much more in it than a cheap comedy with corny humor.

1.5*

As a kid in the early 80s, I was about the same age as the characters from American Pie. Not that I was a womanizer or party animal, but the film did bring about something at the time. Even today, it is still a cult film that is enjoyed by a diverse audience.

In any case, a number of fine and successful characters with actors such as Eigene Levy, Seann William Scott, Shannon Elisabeth and Jason Biggs. Characters that we can effortlessly envision. Also here and there some successful jokes, embarrassing moments and absurdities. It never becomes intellectual, entertaining all the more.

It has become a reference within the genre. Nice for one and a half endless entertainment with mind at zero. It is also clever that the later has been parsed in many other films. Stays fun!
