Kip Cooper (Milton Berle) is an ambitious artist who sees no problem in using other people's work to further his own career. Eddie Egan (Bert Lahr) is a good-hearted man, who teaches him the tricks of the theater trade. In return, Kip tries to cheat his girlfriend and bride-to-be Nancy Egan (Virginia Mayo).
