Always a Bride plot
"The delightful tale of a polygamous Miss"
Victor Hemsley and his daughter Clare pretend to be a married couple who run a hotel. Victor then supposedly walks away with all the money and Clare receives all kinds of money from the guests to make ends meet. But Clare would rather live a normal quiet life and then she falls in love with Terence Winch, a British government investigator. He is ignored by both the staff and the guests, because his job is to see that no one spends more money than the government allows. Then Clare and her father decide to set up one more scam.
