Alles auf Zucker! plot
Jaecki Zuker alias Jakob Zuckermann (Henry Hübchen) is a former famous GDR sports reporter, nowadays a businessman. He stands with his back against the wall: he owes the bank so much money that the bailiff threatens to have him thrown in jail. He has an argument with his two children, Jana and Thomas, and to make matters worse, his wife Marlene (Hanelore Elsner) also throws him out of the house. But thank God, there's still hope: the 5th European Pool Championship is coming up this weekend and Zucker is confident he will win that tournament. He can then pay off his debts with the winner's premium.
