Fairly bland rock music comedy, which hasn't been on TV in a long time (I can understand why). The lame story (sometimes looked a bit like a parody of "Dog Day Afternoon (1975)") is of little value and the same goes for the execution, there is hardly anything to laugh about and the humor is also often of a questionably low level. The scene with Adam Sandler and the police officer in combination with the walking movements was funny though.

With a cast of Brendan Fraser, Adam Sandler (didn't look like a Rock/Metal figure at all) and Steve Buscemi you can honestly expect something better and more fun. I've seen all three better and more fun in other movies. Fortunately, there is still some female beauty (including Amy Locane and Nina Siemaszko) present, so this film still looks good. The duration of barely 90 minutes also helps.

This film is doable for a weekday workday, but all in all it's just a mediocre intention.

PS it was nice to see the late Chris Farley (as position agent) again.

Reasonable film in which three members of a rock band take the employees of a radio station hostage in order to let their music play. A simple, but otherwise excellent starting point for a comedy like this. The film is fast paced and there is plenty happening. The characters are entertaining and the cast does their best. A small 3.0 stars.

revised. Certainly not a perfect film and mostly bland and flat, but there are some inspired hilarious moments. The protagonists are well cast; especially the interaction between brothers Steve Buscemi and Adam Sandler works well. Sandler has the best moments anyway. The pointless subplot with Michael Richards could and should have been cut out of the film and there are more superfluous elements, but all in all the film has stood the test of time quite well so far.
