Pianist Eric Phillips grows weary and begins to fear that his talents are failing him. He inherits an apartment building and the residents have a long list of complaints. His manager advises Phillips to move into the apartment building himself to get some well-deserved rest. Phillips doesn't like the idea, but changes his mind as he becomes more involved in the lives of his eccentric tenants. He becomes especially interested in the model Polly.
