A Hero of Our Time plot

Mert is an egoist, full of grand dreams and fundamentally cold and insensitive to the people around him. He is an immature man in his early thirties living in a middle-class neighborhood in Istanbul. When he is confronted with the preparations for his father’s funeral in a small town surrounded by tea plantations in the hills of northeastern Turkey, he is caught in the discrepancy between the world he egoistically dreams of and the world he actually lives in.
