A Family Affair plot

"Today's youth through the eyes of one who understands youth's temptations!"

America, early 1930s during the economic depression. Judge James K. Hardy hopes to be re-elected, but his campaign has been jeopardized by his opposition to waste on a public works project. Some powerful men in town don't like Hardy's criticism. In the private sphere, Hardy's also has problems: his daughter Joan wants to divorce her husband for unknown reasons and his daughter Marion has relationship problems.
