Biopic about actress Mary Pickford. Mary Pickford (1892-1979) made her breakthrough as an actress in the early days of Hollywood and was nicknamed 'Queen of the Movies'. She starred in more than two hundred films and won an Oscar in 1929 for her role in the costume drama Coquette. In addition, Pickford was one of the founders of the iconic United Artists studio and was one of the initiators of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, which awards the Oscars, among others.
