"Imagine the greatest conversation you've ever had."
The film is based on the true story of a 4-day interview conducted by Rolling Stone Magazine writer David Lipsky (Jesse Eisenberg) with acclaimed author David Foster Wallace (Jason Segel). The interview takes place in 1996 during the last days of Wallace's tour to promote his novel 'Infinite Jest'. During the four days, a battle of jealousy and competition ensues as they talk about women, depression and the pros and cons of fame.
