Poppie Nongena plot
Poppie Nongena, a member of the Xhosa tribe, has a happy childhood in eastern South Africa. When she marries a migrant worker, she moves with him to Cape Town. There awaits her an existence in which not only family ties, the church and all kinds of rituals play a major role, but also the so-called pass laws that force her to live separately from her husband for a long time in one of the home countries.
