Mussolini: The Untold Story plot

This miniseries is based on the memoirs of Vittorio Mussolini, the eldest son of the Italian dictator Benito Mussolini. The story begins in 1922 when Mussolini (George C. Scott) continues to expand his power with the help of his militias, the Black Shirts. By acting like a reincarnation of Julius Caesar, Il Duce achieved a popularity that rose to unprecedented heights after the Italian invasion of Abyssinia (Ethiopia) in 1935. In 1938 Mussolini makes another attempt at a conference in Munich to maintain peace in the world. Despite this, he soon after joins Hitler and drags his country into the Second World War. In doing so, he not only dishonors himself, but ultimately destroys his entire country.
