Hrabina Cosel plot
“The Countess Cosel” is based on the true story of the beautiful Anna Constantia von Brockdorff, a German noblewoman who in 1704 became the mistress of Augustus the Strong, King of Poland and Elector of Saxony. Against the backdrop of life at the court of Augustus, the film follows the arrival in Dresden of 24-year-old Anna Constantia von Brockdorff, an extraordinarily beautiful and scrupulously religious young married woman. Covered are her romance with the king and her "ten-year reign" as his mistress - a role she agrees to, believing she has won the king's love and devotion; and finally her heartbreak, disillusionment, and struggle against him.
