A decent but somewhat short documentary using Moore's own home movies. However, considering all the tapes that were found (and briefly shown on screen), very little of it was actually used. Perhaps there were too many personal details on it.

I also found it quite irritating that the documentary is narrated by Steve Coogan, who imitates Moore's voice, making it seem as if Moore himself is narrating everything.

Couldn't they have just had someone, like one of his sons, comment on it? This is really contrived and fake.

The many celebrity interviews are very short and superficial, and I would have found it more interesting if a bit more time had been allocated to them, although I did find the commentary by Collins and Walken in particular to be quite valuable.

A slightly more extensive film and a slightly longer running time could have resulted in an even better and more interesting documentary.

For now, mainly fun for Moore's fans, with whom I can of course count myself.

A solid seven, or 3.5 stars.

A beautiful, humorous (if a little too glorifying) tribute to Roger Moore, a childhood hero. The first Bond film I ever saw was For Your Eyes Only, and it made a deep impression. The man had charisma, charm, and humor, and was easy to fall in love with (turn James Bond into Roger Moore!). A womanizer, too. He turned out to be the same in real life, and he was especially beloved by his jet-set friends. He had a happy life, although I got the impression that happiness is easier when you have a lot of money and free time, of course. Despite being a rich bastard living in his own little fantasy world, I'm willing to believe he was a relatively simple person at heart. His commitment to UNICEF couldn't have existed without a genuine concern for those less fortunate than him. Personally, I thought he was excellent as James Bond. A different style than Connery and his successors, but he certainly left his mark on the franchise.
