Time Hoppers: The Silk Road plot

In 2050, a prestigious school for the gifted known as Aqli Academy accepts its newest student, 12-year-old Layla. After a raid on Layla's home by the shadowy Zoola, Inc., she and her father, Habib, are forced to relocate to Aqli, where they assume secret identities. In Aqli, Layla reunites with her cousin, Khalid, and makes two new friends: Aysha and Abdullah. The foursome are recruited by Dean Hafsa (also Habib's sister) to participate in a secret time-travel project. An accident throws the children back in time, landing them in Baghdad in the year 825, at the House of Wisdom.
