Square plot

Diplomat Isak Borg works at the Swedish embassy in the North Korean capital, Pyongyang. The staff is constantly monitored by cameras and strongly discouraged from interacting with the locals. This doesn't stop Isak from developing a romance with local traffic officer Bok-joo. When his application for a residency extension is rejected for the last time, Isak tries to convince her to accompany him to Stockholm. Bok-joo refuses and then disappears without a trace, prompting her lover to launch a search.
