Reise der Schatten plot

A couple leads an obsessively orderly life with a monkey and an anglerfish. They carry out their daily rituals – mainly synchronously, but they sleep separately – until one of them decides it is time to die. The other, full of remorse and guilt, searches for himself and travels to an unknown island. The search does not bring comfort, but it does bring a realization of the meaning of life.
