"The fear, the terror, the panic will eat you alive."
Barbara and Johnny go to a remote Pennsylvania cemetery to visit their late father's grave. Unexpectedly, however, they have to deal with zombies. Barbara runs away and hides in the basement of a farm. There she meets Ben and four other people. Together, they must face off against a group of hungry zombies.

Mediocre.
Movies like this actually make me say "Why?" exclaim out loud. Because, why? Why do films like this need to be made at all? It really adds nothing to either animated films or horror films and also just feels uninspired. A kind of animated summary of the 1968 classic, to which the title is also a reference.
Surprisingly well-known cast that voices the puppets here. Surprising because the director hasn't made much yet and also because this is quite a non-project. Basically just an animated rehash of a well-known classic with more blood and less story. They've removed quite a bit, or so it seems. In any case, the film feels incredibly messy due to the lack of calm and focus. I don't think they really felt like it themselves.
Animation-wise, it looks like an average Scooby Doo episode with more guts & gore, as it's quite graphic for a movie that's very similar to a children's series episode. Also nicely spoken and it is nice and short. Those are the main compliments I have, because this film pretty much takes you through in no time. It's just that it doesn't add anything at all because the animation doesn't look very strong. It's not really bad either, but it completely lacks focus, which means that director Axinn can present little to no images that impress visually.
This is not good, actually completely useless. Have yet to see Axinn's first animated horror film and fortunately it seems to be a film that stands on its own. Hopefully Axinn will do something next time that is not a literal repetition because the sometimes graphic animation is quite entertaining. For now an entertaining, short but atmospheric film that I will probably quickly forget. Not really a suitable tribute even for the fans.

When the trailer came along a while ago, I was shocked! How bad it looked!
My expectations lower so much higher for an animated film made in 2021!
Now it was on HBO Max and I thought “let me see if it's really that bad”.. no! It was a very entertaining animated film and in my opinion not badly made at all! The style fits the story and while watching I was not irritated by the drawing style for a second!
