Legend of the Candy Cane plot

A stranger and a young boy, who recently lost his parents, travel to the sleepy prairie town of West Sage, assisted by a talking horse and a mountain goat with a fear of heights. The newcomers are slowly being accepted into the small community. This has positive consequences for the lives of themselves, the townspeople, and even the animals. As the stranger prepares to open a candy store, he grants a small but priceless gift to a motherless girl, a red and white striped peppermint candy cane brimming with Christian symbolism.
