When his father dies, little Pierre, a young miller, inherits a strange cat who speaks like humans and is gifted with magic thanks to his beautiful boots. This cat chatters, sings and dances and will do anything so that his young master, passionately in love with Princess Manon, can win the latter's heart. But there are great obstacles in their way: the king's despicable chamberlain, an ugly hunchback, and a man-eating giant.
