Knor plot
When nine-year-old Babs is given a piggy by her grandfather Tuitjes, Piglet Oink, she has to do everything she can to keep him from her parents. But then it turns out her parents aren't the biggest threat to Knor. Grandpa participates in the sausage competition of the Association for Meat Products of Fresh Pigs.

Babs [Hiba Ghafry] and her best friend Tijn [Matsen Montsma] have just set up the barn as a place to stay when Grandpa Tuitjes [Kees Prins] came over from America for a visit. Babs has never seen her grandfather and is angry that he is taking over the barn as a place to stay. But when he takes her to a farm for her 9th birthday and buys her a pig there, Grandpa can't go wrong. But aunt Christine [Loes Luca] thinks that Grandpa Tuitjes, a retired butcher, did not buy the piglet to please his daughter. The Aardman studios have set the bar high for this type of animation, but Halberstad gives it its own twist, with traditional Dutch sets and some technically clever moments. The attempts to train Piglet yield some funny moments, but the film is full of entertaining finds and ends with one of the most fun chase scenes you'll ever see. A traditional Dutch feast for young and old with excellent voice work by the entire cast.

A nice stop motion! I like this film technique in which such puppets are brought to life. My daughter loves pigs and was delighted to watch this film together. Very nicely done already.
To be honest, I found the trailer to be unparalleled and actually better than the movie as a whole. In terms of editing alone, the trailer was fine and it came out very humorous. In reality it was just okay. In fact, I think it got off to a pretty slow start.
But nevertheless a very charming film which we enjoyed. A movie made with a lot of love!

Sweet and fun video. I often write that I'm not a fan of stop-motion, but somehow it works here. I think partly because of the Dutch backgrounds (those houses!) which brings a certain magic (just like everyday man-made things such as telephones, supermarkets, trains in anime). Film it normally, and it's normal. Make it as animation and there's magic in it. Even though this is visually not very nice. Funny voice work, reasonable pace, a cute piglet and also fun as an adult. Only in the last act does the level drop a bit and it all becomes a bit more childish for my feeling (despite the fact that grandpa wants the pig alive in the meat grinder). 3.5*.
