"He has a strong arm...and a kind heart!"
Antwerp 1410. A strong boy loads barrels from the hold of a ship. The skipper does not want to pay him afterwards, but when he feels the iron fist of the boy, he quickly changes his mind. Who is that young man? It is Jan Zonder Vrees, the grandson of mother Neeltje. Jan is not afraid of anything, not even ghosts in the cemetery. He likes to get into mischief and because of this he accidentally kills his cousin Thijs one day. On the way to the prison, the Steen, Jan escapes. He meets Dokus, a poor serf. Together they undertake the long journey to the land of Dendermonde where the vicious water devil Kludde infests the region. But with Dokus by his side, Jan defies all dangers. Based on the book by Constant De Kinder.
