Im Anfang War der Blick plot
In the beginning was the word, the Bible says. Filmmaker Bady Minck doesn't believe that. She made an artistic film about the tension between two forces in film: that of the word and that of the image. The main character is the Austrian writer Bodo Hell. His study is filled to the brim with books. He delves into the past of his country using postcards. Minck collected 15000 postcards and used 1800 for this film. Two cities have her special attention: Eisenerz and Salzburg. One city has mined iron ore on the outside of the Erzberg, creating a pyramid-like shape. At Salzberg the mountain has been eroded. Themes are the relationship between man and nature, but also between appearance and reality.
