Cricket on the Hearth plot
A talking cricket has befriended a poor toy maker and his daughter on Christmas Day. The girl has gone blind from grief when she heard that her great love has disappeared on the high seas. The cricket, Crocket (Roddy McDowall), acts like a true guardian angel of the family and tries to do everything to bring happiness back into their lives.
