Blame! plot

In the distant technological future, civilization has reached its ultimate internet-based form. An "infection" in the past caused the automated systems to be disrupted, resulting in a layered city structure that replicates infinitely in all directions. Now humanity has lost access to the control systems over the city and everyone is being hunted and taken away by a defense system known as the Safeguard. In a small corner of town, an enclave called Electro-Fishers is in danger of disappearing as they are caught between the threat of the Safeguard and dwindling food supplies.
