“She certainly has a mind of her own.”

Excellent animated film. Anastasia has little new to offer in terms of story, but that is not necessary if everything is executed so perfectly. Beautiful animation images, excellent voice actors, some romance, atmospheric music and a strong heroine. Anastasia is a powerful character and it's interesting to keep following her. The downside is that Rasputin is a somewhat skinny villain and radiates little threat. But there is a lot of good in that.

A big fan of animation movies here and this is really one of my favorites! Also find it very dark at times for an animation.

Both the Dutch and the original version have been seen a lot and secretly the Dutch is the favorite (perhaps because of the nostalgia).

Beautiful songs (Ernst Daniel Smid sang Rasputin ❤️)

Had this one on 4 stars, but I'm really going to make it 5.

Cute.

Anastasia was actually a childhood memory of mine, and I go into those kinds of movies with a questionable mindset these days. In the past I can remember that I was obediently following the story with wide eyes, but now I find it mainly a nostalgic experience that manages to be quite entertaining.

Maybe the animation is a bit outdated here and there, but in general it is technically quite impressive. The environments and backgrounds are masterfully drawn. A quite magical whole of an existing world is created that always manages to captivate. From the start you feel that some love has actually gone into it.

Nice interpretation of the characters too. Not very original of course, but charming appearances that only have chemistry through the use of the voice. Quite a few good choices are made to record the film. Well-known actors, yes, but voiced with enough idiosyncrasy not to leave a single character in oblivion.

Surprises were the ending and that the film sometimes actively tries to distinguish itself from similar films. Not that it's really its own thing, but I felt the film a lot more on a sentimental level than similar films. Probably one of the few films in which the so-called we-have-divorce moment really worked. Still always fun to watch.

I found it a pleasant and enjoyable experience. Today's Disneys can learn something from this, because the money wolf content prevails here a lot less than those uninterested newer films. Incidentally, a point of criticism from my side is that the story around the villain is worked out very unsatisfactorily and the final confrontation is over pretty quickly. It's really hard to neglect a villain in movies like this one. Another nice movie.
