Another beautiful film by Ridley Scott. One that stimulates you to go out into the wide world yourself. How much I would give to sail the world's seas on a sailing ship like the Albatross. Beautiful right? That's why I enjoyed White Squall

I'm done with Jeff Bridges, by the way. He's just the right Kevin Costner. Same looks, but unlike his doppelganger, Jeff is charismatic. A wonderful actor who (also) fits perfectly here. Secretly I'm curious how good Waterworld would have been with Jeff. In White Squall he is only a skipper, but again a beautiful figure. Unlike all those young leaves that mature in a short time. It does indicate that we miss something like the Albatros very much these days. Frank Beaumont would also have kicked me off the boat, but for many young people a trip like this would not hurt at all.

White Squall offers a wonderful journey. There is not much adventure, but it is enjoying the developments and an almost perfect denouement. Secretly I give this film a high rating, because I can just intensely enjoy a good boat trip. Nicely made and a good atmosphere.

Just a great Adventure/Drama, with a good story and beautiful execution. The story kept me interested from the beginning to the end and I even found the end exciting. In any case, the part with the demise of the training ship the Albatros was intense and moving. Visually, everything is beautifully portrayed and the cast does a good job, especially Jeff Bridges, who convincingly plays the role of skipper Christopher.

Nice film in which a number of boys follow training on a large sailing ship. Despite the fact that the characters are put down in a clichéd way, the interaction between the skipper and the boys and the boys themselves do produce a number of fine scenes. The first part is a bit long winded. Enough beautiful images of the sailing ship on the high seas.
