The Savage Woman plot

After her father, a trader named Jacques Benoit, falls from a cliff and dies, young Renee Benoit is left to wander the African wilderness, clad only in beads and animal skins. While exploring a ruined temple, Renee is mistaken for the Queen of Sheba by Prince Menelek, who decides to make her his bride. While escaping, she meets Jean Lerier, a French explorer. Having recently been rejected by a well-known Parisian beauty named Aimee Ducharme, Jean decides to take Renee to Paris with him, hoping this beautiful and wild young woman will arouse his beloved's jealousy.
