"What if your life depended on a stranger?"
'The Mountain Between Us' follows two strangers to each other, a gifted surgeon whose flight has been canceled and a bridal photojournalist on her way to an upcoming wedding. Given the need to reach their final destination in time, the two decide to charter a small plane despite warnings about the weather. However, when this plane crashes, the two must survive together in the wilderness.

Great drama film with a fantastic location in the Rocky Mountains. I especially liked the role of Kate Winslet. Well acted under harsh conditions. Let's get the facts straight. Filming was done on location without trickery with temperatures of -38 degrees. The real ice cream with
-20 for Kate in the water. Sometimes a bit long-winded, but certainly not annoying. Of course there are also minor flaws. The two found each other very quickly. You certainly don't expect a log cabin in such an area and I thought that dog was a bit laughable. We see two suffering, but the dog keeps jumping around happily. Thought the crash was beautifully portrayed, indeed in one shot. I certainly didn't mind the last half hour. Thought it was nice that this was also highlighted instead of a happy ending and that was it. No, the day after was also well designed here. You can call it soggy in the last minute I thought it was a great lock. Predictable perhaps, but beautifully presented. Definitely worth a watch for a romantic drama film. The Rocky Mountains alone are truly stunning!

A film that treads the usual and safe paths with a touch of romance that should not be missed. Needless to say, a happy ending will soon crop up around the corner - literally even. I can't break the film down too much either, because within the genre and set-up this is quite entertaining and good to pick up.
You do have to spare some annoyances and carelessness (take the ever cheerful and frisky dog). However, the beautiful atmospheric images make up for a lot. The Rocky Mountains are a feast for the eyes. And the acting of Winslet and Elba was not too bad. It never gets complex, not even the dialogues, but that's not that abnormal of course.
A survival film, but then a light version of which all sharp edges have been filed off.
