"The true story of a modern pioneer family who turned their backs on civilization...never to return."
It's September and Skip Robinson, his wife Pat and their children Jenny and Toby have been living in a cabin in the Rocky Mountains for five months. So far they have managed to survive in the remote wilderness, but a harsh winter brings unexpected dangers and challenges. The animals that lived peacefully around them in warmer days suddenly become dangerous opponents in search of food. Pat becomes seriously ill and an oil lamp topples the Robinsons' cabin on fire.
