The Curse of Bridge Hollow plot
"Halloween comes to life."
A teenage girl accidentally releases an old and mischievous ghost on Halloween. This makes all kinds of decorations come to life and cause great damage. To save the city, she must now team up with the last person she would turn to for help: her skeptical father.

Simple, smooth, adventurous entertainment full of lightheartedness and fun children's horror effects. Especially kudos to all those Halloween decors at every house, each with its own design. Beautiful, attractively made. 6/10

Wadlow & Wayans.
Not my favorite director or actor, but both gentlemen have contributed enough to the entertainment world to make me curious about a collaboration. In addition, this film smelled a bit like Goosebumps. Not a tour de force in cinema, but a funny and entertaining Halloween event. With the actual holiday approaching, I was interested.
I can't complain, The Curse of Bridge Hollow is a pretty entertaining movie. The development is somewhat as we would expect. Daughter and father who are subjectively diametrically opposed to each other, but then grow closer and accept each other during the story. With Halloween in the background, this provides solid material, although it takes a long time before the film really unravels itself with the above-average scenes. For example, the final highlight (the school attraction) only comes after an hour.
I didn't think the acting of Ferguson and Rowland was anything special. Wayans is clearly enthusiastic, but has also definitely played more successful characters. All the caricatured additions besides those three make little impression (Riggle & Lapkis as minor exceptions). Fortunately, Wadlow does a better job with creative horror. Conceptually this is not unknown territory, but the decorations that eventually come to life are quite cool. It doesn't get exciting anywhere, but the clowns and especially Stingy Jack himself are certainly very nicely done.
With only 89 minutes on the clock, a film like this is over in no time. It is a film that really relies on fun, because Wadlow does not add much in the way of tension or atmosphere from the direction and the humor is variable. Still, despite all the shortcomings, I was able to sit through the film smoothly. Better to have an enjoyable The Curse of Bridge Hollow than an over-sentimental film that keeps shoving the message down your throat.
