Hank, a hopeless man stranded in the wilderness, discovers a mysterious dead body. Together, they embark on an epic journey to return home. When Hank realizes that the body is the key to his survival, the once-suicidal man is forced to convince the dead that life is worth living.

Very nice.
Surprising, wacky and original American comedies, they are extremely rare. But apparently they do exist, at least the two Daniels made sure of that. Went in completely dry and watched a whole movie full of wonder.
Especially because after the first scene I was afraid that the best arrows had already been shot. But the two keep the standard high. Also strange that they already managed to get two famous names for a first film and apparently also had a budget for more than nice visual effects. Often these kinds of films are less in finishing.
Only the music was a bit more difficult for me to place. Definitely not my thing, so I didn't really know how seriously certain things could/shouldn't be taken. But otherwise thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Redcliffe is finally freed from his HP past and Dano once again puts down a fascinating character. But in the end, it's the directors who deserve all the credit.

It's been a long time since I came across such an exceptionally unique film. Does it all differently from his peers, actually just takes a socially critical look, but takes a solid portion of fantasy as a guideline. The soundtrack is nice and uplifting and present, visually stunningly inventive and moving at the right moments. More of this please! Thick 4.5* for this bromance.

Wonderful movie! For the first five minutes I thought it wasn't going to work out until that body was washed ashore. Beautiful! What an incredible fantasy must have been put into this... An absolute must for anyone who wants to see something different and who wants to have a good laugh!
