"His game is fancy women ... and his fate is Lady Luck !"

Mark Fallon and Kansas partner John Polly try to introduce fair gambling on the riverboats. But their first successes also make enemies, such as cheaters, but also Angelique Dureau, whose necklace Mark won at gambling. Later, in New Orleans, Mark befriends Angelique's father, but she still despises the now wealthy Mark for his gambling successes. Conflicts, tragedies, but also romantic entanglements are not spared for Mark and Angelique.
