Men against the Sun plot

At the end of the 19th century, surveyor Hawker became involved in the construction of a railway from Mombasa to Lake Victoria. He began the project with some skepticism, but gradually became more convinced of the railway's necessity. He also met Elizabeth, a doctor, and fell in love with her. Then, two man-eating lions began attacking the men working in the camps.
