Les États-Unis d'Albert plot
The story begins in 1923 in Montreal, where young Albert (Eric Bruneau) shows up unannounced in the studio of Jane Pickford (Andrea Ferreol), a drama teacher who teaches young women. Aspiring to become the next Valentino, he nevertheless manages to convince her to hire him as an apprentice. Three years later, the old lady cannot bear to let him go, and insists that he give her a kiss goodbye, which proves fatal to her. But this is not the end, she will haunt Albert in his dreams during his journey through America. Along the way, he encounters a succession of bizarre characters: a militant feminist Mormon (Emilie Dequenne) who believes in polyandry, a womanizing golfer (Roy Dupuis) who plays in the California desert with amber-scented golf balls, and a man named Noah, who tries to to break the record.
