Highways by Night plot

"DANGER AND DAMES ON THE RACKET ROAD!"

Tommy Van Steel is a wealthy playboy who lives a reclusive life with the aristocratic Ellen Cromwell, who treats him badly. Tommy's uncle Ben therefore advises him to drastically change his current life by moving back among people. Tommy soon becomes involved with a gang of criminals, but manages to flee. The Fogarty family offers Tommy a job at their small trucking company and daughter Peggy trains him. The criminal Leo Bronson is a competitor of the Fogartys and he wants to get rid of them. But Tommy poses as a mobster to infiltrate Bronson in order to secure an important transport order for the Fogartys. After he succeeds, Tommy helps the Fogartys with his family capital, but Bronson doesn't stop there. Certainly not, when he's learned who Tommy really is.
