Her Reputation plot

Louisiana plantation owner Andres Miro discovers that he has only a short time left to live. He arranges to marry his young charge, Jacqueline Lanier, so that she will inherit his fortune when he dies. However, Jack Calhoun, a spurned suitor, kills Miro in a fit of rage and then shoots himself. A local reporter, seeing an opportunity to make a name for himself, writes a story about the incident in which Jacqueline is portrayed as responsible for the deaths of both men as a result of her infidelity. Trouble ensues.
